FREE Community Children's Choir

The Children's Choir of Nora is a partnership between the Indiana Fine Arts Academy and Union Chapel UMC.  The goal is to provide an engaging, diverse, and affordable vocal opportunity on the Northside of Indianapolis. Each participant will receive a solid foundation in vocal production beginning with breath control, vowel placement, ear training, music theory and ensemble singing.  Each hour long rehearsal includes private coaching as well as choral singing experiences. Choir members will be engaged in fun games and exercises that will develop their skills in breath, pitch, tone, and rhythm.

Ages: This choir is open to children in First through Sixth grade.

Entry requirements: Application, signed parent agreement and attendance at a "Meet the Director" opportunity

Start date: Sunday, September 10, 2017 (Join in now!)
Rehearsal Times: 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Sundays

The choir season will run from Sunday, September 10, 2017 - May 6, 2018, with breaks for holidays following the Washington Township school calendar.  The choir will have a variety of performance opportunities throughout the year.

The Indiana Fine Arts Academy is a nonprofit organization that offers premier music, dance, art, and theater instruction to the community. Our students range in age from four years all the way to senior adults. We provide a wholesome Christian environment where students can develop their skills, increase their knowledge in the fine arts, and apply them through personal expression, recitals, and performance opportunities. Our faculty represents over 75 years of education experience. Each teacher has received formal education in their discipline and is an active contributor to the arts landscape in Indianapolis.
