Guitar Class Forming at Indiana Fine Arts Academy

Union Chapel's longtime ministry partner, the Indiana Fine Arts Academy, has just a few spots open in this semester's Guitar course. Sign up now!

Guitar class affords each participant a solid foundation in beginning guitar. A method book will be utilized allowing students to continue to additional sessions or transition to private lessons if desired.  Each 45-minute class includes individual instruction as well as group learning experiences. Students will be able to participate in the Fall Recital at the end of the term in November. This class is available for students 10 through 13 years of age.

  Paul Schafer is a music educator with over 27 years of experience.  He is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor's Degree in music education and a jazz/commercial minor.  Paul has held a variety of professional music positions including Worship Leader for a Catholic congregation, private lesson instructor, school band/music director and performer with several local and national bands.  Mr. Schafer has a background of teaching students of all ages on a variety of instruments. He currently is a music teacher at Francis W. Parker IPS School 56.

- Cost per class is $10.00 with a session length of 10 weeks. 
- Sibling discounts of $2.00 off per class available.
- This class will continue with a Christmas component and second semester with interest. 

The Indiana Fine Arts Academy is a nonprofit organization, located at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, that offers premier music, dance, art, and theater instruction to the community. Students range in age from four years all the way to senior adults. IFAA provides a wholesome Christian environment where students can develop their skills, increase their knowledge in the fine arts, and apply them through personal expression, recitals, and performance opportunities. The faculty represents over 75 years of education experience. Each teacher has received formal education in their discipline and is an active contributor to the arts landscape in Indianapolis.
